If you want to use colours from an images or just want to copy the colour from somewhere you have seen, then this is a tutorial on how to use the canva colour picker.

Upload the ‘Colour’ Inspiration Image into Canva

In your project create a new page. Go to ‘Upload’ In the left hand panel and upload the image you want to select colours from.

Minimise the zoom on canva so that you can see both the image you are selecting colours from, and the element that you want to update the colour of. This is easier if they on pages next to each other.

Using the Colour Picker

Simply select your element you are changing the colour for then > choose colour from the top bar of design options > + icon in left hand panel > eye dropper tool.

This will show you a square with a circle around it. Whatever colour you click next will be picked up by canva and turn the element you have already selected into that colour.

In the example below, I had the peach square selected (unfortunately the selection outline disappears once you click the eye dropper tool). Once I released the eye dropper tool on the beige colour however, my peach square became beige!

If you’re interested in a second way to pick your colours then this is how to do it using the Canva Colour Palette Generator.
