How to Use ID Finder In Squarespace

Hey, I'm gonna show you how to find the id a Squarespace ID finder. So it's basically finding code for BL blocks, sections, and collections within your site to be able to code specific things. I am not a big coder in any way. I keep looking in the wrong place for the camera. Sorry. There you're I'm not a big coder in any way and I'm no expert in it.

But I do wanna. What I find and what I do because they're such simple things and I know that the people that I'm talking to are also not experts. And so I know a beginner's mind can teach a beginner's mind, and this is actually fairly easy to do. So the next video I'll show you will be how to animate like one video and take off the animation of one video using the ID finder.

So how you do that is so here. This is only it's a Chrome extension. So here, over here all your chrome extensions. So you go to Squarespace, ID finder in Chrome Web Store, so it's Squarespace ID finder here, and then you here would be add for Chrome. So you add it in. And then what it will look like is you'll get all these little code blocks.

So I'll go back to my website. I'm in edit mode, but you cannot be in edit mode if you can show them in any. And I'm gonna go up here to my extensions and find the Squarespace Id finder and click it and all my blocks will come up. So just to give you an idea this is the code for, if I wanted to code this whole section.

So this section would beed by these two block blockers. This block ID code. This red one here is literally only for this, these words.

What code blocks are used for

This. So I, for a client, I wanted to animate a bunch of photos so that when he clicks on them, they animate and so they show up. But they're capable, easier.

So let me find which ones it was. Just to show you, so here, these are all click. So I would use this whole section to click them. Another example would be that actually for this one, , I would not want it to be clickable, so I'd have to, I'd have to find that block and then un-click it, if so anyway, this is a video only about how to download and what is a Squarespace ID finder.
