What Is Holistic Web Design?
For me it is many things. Boundaries (or loving limits as one of my parenting teachers, Marion Rose, calls it) are love. When both people on either end of a boundary feel safe and held, it is a win win. My two week process is a loving way to work with clients and makes both myself and the client feel safe and held. What does that mean in this context? It means we have clear start and end dates, so our time is valued and respected. We hold the same expectations from the start and the same end goal. We know what is happening every day, with a clear timeline and scheduled calls (there is of course always wiggle room!). This clarity makes it less likely for any resentment to come up, and it is much more fun!
I work intuitively. As well as having guides that I give my clients before our two week process and having calls to get to know the idea/project, I use my intuition to create the brand. We then work collaboratively to make sure it is on point and expressing the business/project how it wants to be expressed.
There is a balance between structure and organic process. The container is the two week process and the agreed upon timeline. Within that structure there can be a dance of an extra call here, push a time there… so that creativity and productivity do not get stifled. Know the boundaries to break the rules.
I have a background in design (I co-founded Ardour Design with my partner Dave Pentland) and I’ve also been immersed in the wellness space. I’ve worked with aromatherapy, massage, meditation, yoga and am now working with mothers in their fourth trimester. I love both worlds and I love that I can bring them together.
